I need some quick make-up tips for family pictures. Can you help me?

I'm 27 years old and I can count on one hand how many times i've worn make-up and all of those times it was applied by someone else that wears it (so they knew what they were doing). The only thing I've ever applied was Lip liner and that was followed by gloss.Anyway I'm going to take Family pictures with my husband and son this weekend and I need some quick tips.I want to look as natural as possible.I have clear skin & I'm brown skinned.I am a black woman and I said before I want to look as natural as possible with just a hint of color! SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.

Does anyone have any good make up tips?

I have dark hair and eyes, and i have light/medium skin color. What colors do i need to wear? I also need eye make up tips.

Anyone got any make-up FX experience that could give me some tips for an upcoming role in a play?

My character needs to look really tired and I was hoping someone could recommend how I could achieve this look with make-up. I'm looking for tips on how to look like you have dark circles under your eyes especially. Please let me know what materials I'd need to achieve this look.

I just would like to know what you lovely ladies have as make up tips. Anything in your routine or little secrets you have would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance : )

Any tips for keeping hair & make up looking fresh during the wilting heat?

I live in SW Louisiana and it is very hot & humid. I am using waterproof make up but always look "undone". Any tips?
I don't tan myself at all, very bad for skin.

Face Make-Up Tips For Women

Women want to look their best at all times. Skin tints, body and face highlights and concealers are the most popular sought after make-up gears. When applying make-up, the first step is cleansing the face. An exfoliation cream is used to wash off the over night oil residue. This is followed by moisturizing and toning.

The application of make-up begins after the skin is moisturized and toned. A foundation matching the skin tone is applied which is usually of lighter shade than the ****** skin. The concealer covers skin blemishes and adds a little color to the other wise pale cheeks. Using loose translucent powder with a brush sets the make-up.

For mature women, this is more effective than compressed powder which accentuates lines and wrinkles. A non-frosted powder under the chin reduces sagging neck line. The shade used is slightly darker than the natural skin tone.

Cream blushes in golden almond and copper tone is gently blended from cheeks to temples to produce a soft transparent effect. Eyes are the most expressive part of the face and highlighting them with make-up is one of the simplest ways to look beautiful. For this purpose kohl pencil, eye liner and eye shadow are normally used.

Eye shadow is the most creative cosmetic. The eye make-up techniques and choice of eye shadow colors should match the color of eyes. Prior to the application of eye shadow, a neutral concealer matching the skin tone of the eyelid is applied and then the lightest eye shadow shade is applied over the entire area from lash line to brow line. This creates a smudge resistant base.

Frosted eye shadow creates a younger look but it has to be applied expertly. Usually for a better appearance which emphasizes and creates depth in eyes, the lightest shade is applied under the brow with the darker shade close to the lashes while the darkest shade is applied on the crease.

Blends of pink and grey eye shadows are normally used by mature women. A soft eye brow pencil, matching the hair color, accentuates the eyes but use of black eye brow pencil should be avoided. For glamorizing eyes for night outings, shimmer highlights are applied.

Eyes look wonderful when the eye lashes are accentuated by mascara. When using mascara, application should commence from the root of the eye lashes and then to be moved towards the tip for better results. For a softer and flattering look, brown mascara does the trick. Lips are another primary ****** segment. Special attention is paid to lips while applying make-up. Initially the lips are smoothened before applying lip color.

Foundation is applied and the lips are defined by a lip liner. For thick lips, instead of lip liner a Qtip helps in the application of lip color while thinner lips look fuller with light shades. Soft matte colors in pink, berry, coral or peach make the lips appear luscious.

Make-up procedure changes with the season. During rainy season, light and sheer make-up with water proof mascara, transfer resistant lipstick and water proof foundation avoid the risk of make-up smudging. During winter season, women look more glamorous and polished by using shades such as coffee, chocolate and berry tones for cheeks and smoky shades for the eyes. Gloss and glimmer are used in plenty during the festive winter season.

In summer a dewy fresh face is possible by using the lightest touch of translucent powder and colors such as golden green for eyes with light shades of bronze on cheek bones and chin to provide a sun-tan effect.

Senegence Distributor Barbara Harrington Shares Her Make Up Tips to Create That Flawless Finish

Many of my clients ask me, well...how do you create a flawless finish on my face? What we want to do is enhance one’s own beauty in applying makeup, but to do this...it begins with having good skin. You see, your skin is like a canvas. And the first place to start is with is foundation, the building blocks to a beautiful face.

I know, I know...Foundation....Yeah, Right?!

Many women skip this step altogether or simply use the wrong shade or type of foundation. But what we’re all forgetting here; to get that clean, fresh start...we need to start with a great canvas to support our master piece.

Ok...I think you are getting the picture.

Here are some of my best tips for enhancing your own beauty personality Style in creating your best face forward. And it’s not as hard as you think.

One of the biggest questions I get from my clients is this: Do I Really Need Foundation???

And ...let’s say you have great skin....I’d say. You are one lucky person. Then...all you need is first to apply a good moisturizer (SeneGence SeneDerm) Day Time Moisturizer, which has been tested to be an SPF equivalent of 15). And then, all you need is a little concealer and blush. Now...if you are bit red, or pale, has uneven tone, large pores, or acne, etc., then you need to cover your skin with foundation (perhaps mix the moisturizer with the foundation to a tinted moisturizer really) to create that flawless finish.

Most of the complaints I hear....that is so hard in choosing the right shade of foundation. What is interesting with the SeneGence’s MakeSense Foundation is that it does a color correction within your family of colors. But again....to really do your face justice and choose the right color for you, what I need to know to help you is ...your color tone – warm or cool and to pin point the tone of foundation, what you skin looks like...is it pale, medium or darker shades. Then, the idea is to really blend with your own coloring, because it is very hard to exactly match. What I do next is choose three colors and see which one basically disappears into the jar line area...so that I can see if it is appropriate for you neckline as well. What you don’t want is a demarcation between you neck and you face. The next step is to see how it looks on your skin. Please know that I have many clients I have never met, and what I do is ask a series of questions, a talk about color so that I can choose the best color for you.

Most women don’t think about this, but a wonderful aspect about wearing foundation, is its ability to fight the elements like sun, wind and cold, harsh winter air. Even a foundation, even without the SPF still provides a good barrier, especially against sun damage. With SeneGence’s Foundation, it does have an SPF equivalent of 15 and couple that with the moisturizer, and it has been rated as an SPF equivalent of 30 by independent laboratory testing Then truly, you will never regret saving your skin. It’s all about beautiful skin.

To Blush or Not to Blush.....That is the question:

Please know that by only applying foundation or base, you have that look that is flat in my opinion. It is kind of a dead look. To put your best face forward, you really want to create a three-dimensional face--- one that features warmth, and enhances skin and bone structure. In order to give your face that depth....one of the things you need to do is add some blush to highlight the “structures” of your face.

A real common question – can I sleep in this make up? . No....If you are going to sleep for the night, it is best to wash your face. Yes...our Moms were right.

Ok....many of us are guilty of sleeping with our make up on. So understand, it really isn’t good for your skin. It’s best to have an easy, simply routine. You need good nighttime cleansing and skin protection are essential. And the same for your morning routine.

I know when I sleep in my makeup....my skin doesn’t feel its best, I awful when I have eyeliner or mascara around my eyes when I wake up. I feel I didn’t give my skin a time to relax as well.

Senegence’s Anti-Aging Skin Care is great for waking up to refreshed skin. At night, your first remove the color technology with Foops! And then, your wash your face with a 3-in-1 cleaner that cleans, exfoliates, and tones. Next apply an eye crème, SeneGence’s feels so silky and smooth and melts like butter, and finally apply the night cream. It feels so luxurious.

SeneGence’s Skin Care System (Day, Night, Eye Crème, and Cleanser) costs $135 (plus handling/shipping) and my clients all admit it’s worth the investment.

Remember, whatever you do, treat you skin with TLC (tender loving care), because it is never too late improve the canvas you were born with.

Picture Perfect Make-up: Tips For Great Wedding Make-up

After spending months picking out the perfect dress, shoes, and jewelry, you’ve probably had your wedding day hairstyle on the brain. You’ve probably poured over magazines and had a couple trial runs, and now, almost at the last minute, you are finally considering your make-up. Your make-up is just as important as every other detail on your wedding day. After all, you are going to be taking pictures that will last forever, so it’s important that you look absolutely perfect. A great idea is to splurge and hire a make-up artist to meet you at the saloon or at the ceremony venue to do your make-up. But, if your make-up artist makes you nervous or if you are just planning on doing it yourself, here are some great tips to ensure wedding day make-up bliss.

1.)   As with everyday make-up, less is always more! You definitely don’t want to look to overdone, so do your best to accent your best features and its okay to go a little darker with your make-up because of the photos, but try to keep it as neutral as possible.

2.)   You can mix your foundation with a light moisturizer to help it go on smoothly and help it absorb more naturally into your skin.

3.)   Don’t over-do the concealer. You should pick on that matches your skin tone perfectly and use just enough to cover up those blemishes, redness, and age spots. You should also consider dabbing a little under your eyes to help with the dark circles.

4.)   Use powder to set your foundation and concealer, and to eliminate shine. Shine is definitely not the wedding day glow you are looking for! You should choose a powder that matches your foundation, and stay away from translucent powders, which tend to eliminate color and will wash you out.

5.)   Choose a blush that matches your skin tone and apply in evenly. A lot of brides tend to over-do the blush, which then in turns makes them look like a clown on their big day! Blush is definitely one of those areas where less in more and if applied evenly will give you that wedding day glow you are looking for.

6.)   Don’t over-do your eye make-up. For an evening wedding, your eye make-up can be done slightly darker, but the best eye make-up is make-up that is done in neutral shades and makes your eye color pop. To make your eyes really stand out, you can take some white eyeliner or white eye shadow and put it on the inside corner of both eyes. This will really waken your eyes up without a whole lot of drama.

7.)   Be careful with eyeliner! You don’t want thick, heavy eyeliner and you should apply it after you are finished with your eye shadow. You should apply it as close to the base of the eyelashes as possible, in a thin steady line. You can also apply in directly under the lower eyelashes, but it is recommended that you use your eye shadow to define your lower lid because it will create a softer look. You should choose a eyeliner that matches well with your shadow and your mascara.

8.)   You should choose mascara that matches your skin tone and really helps your eye color stand out. There are a lot of great mascaras out there that are specifically formulated to help make your eye color stand out.

9.)   You should apply a lip liner that is clear or the same color as your lip. This will keep your lips from looking silly if your lipstick happens to wear off and all your left with is a ring around your mouth.

10.)  Your lip color should be one that accentuates your coloring and doesn’t look to over done. You should also use a brush for a more even application and to keep you from applying too much. Another trick, is to brush a little powder over your lips to help the color stick.

Just like your hair requires a trial run, so does your make-up, especially if you are doing it yourself, so you should consider setting aside a night every other week to practice applying your wedding make-up and definitely try to practice it the night or day before your big day. Remember this is your big day, so don’t be afraid to splurge on some nicer, high-end make up, but be sure to choose it in shades and colors you will use long after your big day to make the expense worth it. As with everything on your big day, remember to have fun with your make-up, but stay away from doing too much more than your normally do or you will be able to tell in your wedding photos and it will look over done.
